Shrader Mendez and O’Connell is a boutique law firm seeking to hire a talented associate attorney to join our growing firm. The ideal candidate will have two to five years of law firm experience. While experience handling criminal defense, personal injury, consumer protection, class actions, and/or business litigation is preferred, it is not required. This is an opportunity to join an exceptional team with a collegial and engaging culture. As an Associate Attorney, you will play a crucial role in providing legal services to our clients. You will work closely with partners, paralegals, and support staff and take an active part in handling all aspects of litigation, from case inception to post-trial. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable courtroom experience, attend hearings and trials, and participate in depositions and mediations. The associate will draft pleadings, discovery demands, discovery responses, motions, and other litigation documents. The associate will prepare reports for insurance carriers regarding case status. We are a bilingual firm and would love to have another Spanish-speaking attorney.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research to support case preparation and provide legal analysis on various issues. Stay current on changes in Florida law and relevant legal trends.

  • Document Drafting: Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, agreements, and other legal correspondence.

  • Case Management: Manage a caseload independently, ensuring deadlines are met and clients are informed about case progress. Work closely with senior attorneys on complex matters.

  • Client Consultation: Meet with clients, gather information, and provide legal advice and guidance. Maintain effective communication with clients throughout the legal process.

  • Court Representation: Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, mediations, and trials. Prepare for and attend court appearances as required.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client satisfaction.

  • Compliance: Ensure all legal work complies with Florida state laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

As the Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive first impression for our clients and visitors. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing incoming calls, and performing various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the front office.
